lyrics
A handsome young man.
An ambitious young man
With no formal education in the arts.
They sat down to dinner- cured meat and Chardonnay- and kept their judgmental impulses at bay:
“You play music, you say?”
“I perform on the stage, I say!”
Soon their impulses came out to play.
Am I who I think i is?
Like Sartre and Beauvoir,
The intellectual repertoire
Stoked any flame that might arouse this pungent game,
Of which most aptly fall insane.
Am I who I think I is?
It starts with the eyes you see;
They never quite find yours do they?
Then it continues with the mind, you see.
“Should I say what I mean, or
Do I dare not say it?”
Then the spiral begins.
Am I who I think I is?
